Usercentrics’ CEO Donna Dror sat down virtually with Authority Magazine columnist Cynthia Corsetti to discuss how artificial intelligence is disrupting the data privacy space.
The discussion covered a range of topics, from our CEO’s unique career journey to her views on the influence of AI on the data protection and privacy sectors.
Dror shed light on her career progression, from dabbling in real estate and event production to finding her calling in the tech industry. She emphasized the importance of the team, the people, in any organization’s success. Citing Usercentrics’ “Project 2X” — an initiative to double efficiency — as a prime example, highlighted how the Usercentrics’ team’s creativity, hard work, and innovation helped achieve this ambitious goal.
Discussing the disruption caused by AI in the data privacy and protection industry, Usercentrics’ CEO explained how the technology fosters efficiency and enhances product functionality. She highlighted how AI can help businesses and users understand their data privacy rights and regulations better. Dror also believes that AI has put data access and data rights at the forefront of people’s minds, a development she welcomes given Usercentrics’ focus on consent management.
When asked about the AI technology that has had the most significant impact on the data privacy industry, Dror mentioned audience modelling and tools aimed at improving quality and response time for customer requests. She also noted the use of chatbots in lead generation and the role of generative AI in content creation. Addressing the ethical considerations of AI, she stressed the importance of transparency in AI’s use of data, and acknowledged the current gap in how AI tools must respect privacy rights.
Dror concluded the interview by outlining five key steps for industries disrupted by AI: educating teams about AI, embracing AI as a tool for innovation, recognizing the need to upskill the workforce, considering collaborations with AI experts, and establishing governance frameworks for responsible AI adoption.
